The Reckoners are a covert group of people that work together to hunt down and kill Epics. The group was founded by leader Jonathan Phaedrus, also known as Prof.
The Reckoners consist of multiple cells, or teams of a few members that are kept mostly separate as a precaution against discovery if one of their cells are compromised. A count of how many cells exist is never specified, though information in the first two chapters of Calamity suggest that there may have only ever been two. Among the first cell, and the ones most central to the plot of the story, are Tia, Abraham, Cody, Megan. David encounters the group when they stop in his city, Newcago. The second cell, stationed in Babylon Restored, consisted of Mizzy, Val , Exel , and Sam.
